I was wondering if there is someone with a spare bike in the shed they are willing to sell me for a bobber project I am keen to do.
I just need the bike to be running well with reasonable K’s and fairly close to registerable condition, paint can be crap and a bit of rust won’t hurt either, I'm hoping to spend around $1500 mark, and I'm in Sydney but would be willing to travel a few hours out to pick up if needed. If you have something that you think is suitable please call me.

1981 XS650SH. Too many bikes and not enough time or space so one must reluctantly go. 48,000 km; excellent condition. Completely rebuilt and improved in the 7 years and 16,000 km I’ve owned it. None of the usual XS bugs left.

Boyer Bransden ignition, electronic regulator and other electrical improvements. Bronze swingarm bushes, roller steering bearings, progressive fork springs and YSS gas shocks (near new) give this great handling for an XS, especially with the low bars currently fitted.

Stainless brake pistons. Heavy-duty clutch springs. Carbs fully rebuilt with improved needles and different jets (these models run too lean standard imho). New rear tyre, chain and sprockets (rear 32T) less than 1,000 km ago.

And it has another new cylinder re-bore. To make a long story short: when I decided to sell six months ago it had a very minor crankcase oil weep that I felt I should fix. On disassembly, I noticed some minor scuffing on one piston. It wasn’t serious but couldn’t leave it. So it has new 3^rd o/s pistons, all new gaskets and seals throughout, as well as a valve job. I have now put about 900 km on it to make sure it’s ok. It’s nearly half run in, had two oil changes, the head has been re-torqued, and everything else has been adjusted and checked.

Bike is in Adelaide and has SA reg until June 2010. Original parts are included in sale - shocks, bars, master cylinder, carb parts, and other spares. The sheepskin seat cover is included.

$4600 with all extras, original parts and spares.

There wasn’t much info as I was in a bit of a rush, but I believe it is a half finished resto. Great for spares or rebuild!

Yamaha XS650 Mikuni BS38 Carb Repair Kits that will fit the following models: TX650A and XS650B/C (1974-76). The original kit number was 447-14901-00/01. These were imported from Sirius Consolidated in Canada. Unfortunately I could not use these parts as the previous owner had swapped over the carbs to a later model. Although the sealed packets have been opened, these are still in brand new condition.

Kits include: float bowl gasket; Y31 needle (Mikuni 4N8-4) and clip; 2.0 float needle and seat; main nozzle; #127.5 main and #45 slow jet; air screw.

Price $35 includes postage and payment by Direct Deposit details will be sent. Guaranteed delivery is now used to counter any problems with parts not arriving.

1978 Yamaha XS650: starter solenoid, lighting check unit and indicator cancel unit. The owner who sent them on stated they were in good working order. The solenoid model # is 12V A104-62 and the positive cable, steel mount, and two power wires are included. Power wires still have the original connectors. Price $30.00 includes express postage.

1978 XS650 speedometer and tachometer cables should fit most TX650s and XS650s. Usual story ... although they are in used condition, they have been cleaned out and both inner cables are turning freely. Despite their age they are still working perfectly well for everyday use. Good for spare parts or finish off your XS650 rebuild. Price $24.00 includes express postage.

1978 Yamaha XS650 front brake lines. Includes the union joint, banjo bolts, top and bottom hoses as set up for single disk. If you require two lower hoses for dual disks, I can throw in an extra one as well. The rubber cap that fits over the reservoir end is damaged but will still be fine. They will need to be cleaned out but like most XS650 parts look to be in pretty good working order for their age. Price $28.00 includes express postage.

Hi Mate ! For Sale, $3000.00 US, a very nice 1973 TX650 that I've just finished up. Mostly original, 6298 original miles, recent full tune up. Modified rear fender and taillight, later model shocks, custom flame design seat recover, original tires (should be replaced, but very serviceable as is), 70's sissy bar with bag (bag not shown in pics). Bike is clean, no oil leaks, no tank dents. Has original side covers that look great. Needs a chain guard, has kick stand only.Crating and shipping charges from Chicago are buyers responsibility. I’m in the process of putting in a permanent magnet type alternator from a RZ 250 on my bike. I have priced the adapting plate to be made at $120 for one and $40 each for ten, the more made the cheaper.
